Roaring Run Equestrian Center was established in 2014 as a joint venture between the Sodowsky and the Bender families united in the common goal of providing a high-quality barn that allows people to have access better equine education and care. The RREC team also works hard to provide superior learning experiences through clinics, lessons, and training as well as working with other local groups and organizations to further the quality and quantity of horse education here in Western PA. There are two in house trainers at RREC: Kathy Sodowsky and Madi Sodowsky. Kathy's love of horses and extensive knowledge of riding and horse care help her provide an outstanding base for people from all age groups as they are getting introduced to riding to the time they are intermediate riders. Kathy has focused extensively on dressage and centered riding to give people the foundation they need to ride in all disciplines. Madi's lifelong love of horses led her to join the team as the in house trainer and intermediate-advanced level riders. She grew up riding in the hunter-jumper world before moving into the discipline of dressage 8 years ago. She can provide horses and riders expertise in both areas. RREC is also fortunate enough to have an in-house farrier, Wayne Sodowsky. Wayne goes above and beyond to provide the horses at the barn with the best quality hoof care and has a fantastic eye at helping enhance the quality of movement in performance horses through proper shoeing. RREC hosts monthly clinics with Lisa Hall, USDF certified instructor through 4th level and silver medalist for ambitious and advanced riders to provide a well rounded education. We are all working together to turn RREC into an educational hub for horse and rider.
